Our approach to the web design process ensures that each party has communicated clearly the goals and scope of their project. Our designers and programmers are in constant contact with you in order to keep the project on time and on budget. The following is a step by step guide to our process:
1. First we will sit down with you and discuss what you want to accomplish with your site. Things we will want to know is: What kind of site are you looking to develop? Is it a brochure site or a portfolio site? Do you want to be able to edit the pages of your site yourself? These kinds of questions enable us to give you an accurate quote.
2. From there we will put together a fixed rate proposal outlining exactly what you are getting for what price. The only time the price changes is if you go outside the scope of the project.
3. Once contracted J Maze Design will come up with a few "test sites" that you can pick and choose the future look and feel of your new website. You can repeat this process until you get what you want or envisioned for your site.
4. Once you have decided on the new look of your web site we will begin adding your content and/or any programming your site entails. You may want to have you content ready ahead of time to speed up the process. If you do not have content or need help writing your content - we offer copy writing services as an additional fee.
5. Now for the part you have been waiting for - the home page! We design the home page of your web site last. We do this because we like to use the home page as a summary of your web site. That way we can incorporate photos, text and many other things that have popped up in the design process.
6. Once all programming and content has been entered to the new look of your site, we do a throurough testing of your new site. We test your site In different browsers and modem speeds to make sure a wide variety of viewers will all be seeing the same thing.
7. Finally the launch! J Maze Design will handle uploading your new site to your hosting company or on your own servers.
We are a full service web design firm, meaning that, we will take care of everything. From registering your domain name, to the development of your site, to the hosting of your site, to maintaining it after you launch.
A small web site (from 1- 15 pages) can take anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months to launch. A larger site can take on average 2 - 6 months. The amount of time it takes to launch a site really depends on how quickly the client can provide us with feedback and content.
